Squishy donuts!

Hello everyone!

Have you ever heard about Squishy? For those who do not know Squishy are stress puppets that are very popular during last years and can present in the form of key rings, magnets or simple puppets to crumble and crush to ease the tension! You can find these cute accessories in different shapes and sizes, there are squishy-shaped sweets, cartoons or simple kawaii characters famous especially in China and Japan. Also the consistency varies, some are softer and others stiffer, but in both cases the common feature is that they are made of a particular polyurethane foam (Memory foam) that allows the squishy to be scrambled in a thousand ways and always return to the originale shape!

Having worked for 2 years in the polyurethane sector, I became interested in this fashion and I thought it would be very nice to be able to create them at home, personalize them and give them to some friends!

So today I'll explain how to make Squishy donuts!
PREMISE: I show you how to make the squishy from the already polymerised sponge as mixing the basic components on its own could be difficult and dangerous.

 What you need:

  • memory foam cube (quantity of your choice based on the number of donuts you want to make)
  • scissors
  • 3D painting
  • plastic bag for frozen foods
METHOD:
  1. With the scissors give a round shape to the memory foam cube and cut out the center making a smaller hole.
  2. Pour the 3d painting into a plate to obtain the color of the base, a light beige.
  3. After you have mixed the colors and obtained the correct shade, put your hand in the plastic bag and pick up some color with your fingers. Then pat all the sponge and let it dry completely.
  4. Choose a bright color for the frosting and cover the top of the donut as if you were using a sac a poche!
  5. Using a small brush, smooth the glaze and allow it to dry completely.
  6. With other colors go to decorate the donut with some sugary! Allow to dry completely.
